“We are encouraging individuals to become volunteers of Rehab to bring about a change in the lives of poor children, women and other vulnerable groups. As a volunteer, individual will be involved in various welfare programmes such as education, health protection, economic development etc”, said Mr. Sadagar Ali, Programme Organizer and trainee of MSW Scholarship Programme. 


Rehab India Foundation organized volunteers meet to build and manage relationship with village community at Sir Mukataab Primary School in Mustafabad Village of Block Loni, District Ghaziabad, Western Uttar Pradesh on June 17th, 2013.

On the occasion, Abdul Hamid said, “It is always a great feeling that you are working for a cause. I admire the efforts of Rehab Team that they encourage me to become of the Volunteers of Rehab for the development of Mustafabad which is less developed and highly populated Village in Ghaziabad District”.

On the same day, teachers were shortlisted from Village Community to start Free Educare Centre for School going children and drop-outs. 

Rehab India Foundation has planned to start VDP activities very soon in the Village. The survey has been completed. After Evaluation of Survey, it has realized that there is the dire need to improve the quality of education and encourage drop outs to continue their study.

Join Hands to Build a Safe & Disaster resilient Assam…



June 13th, 2013: Mr. Jalerwar. Deka, Assistant Civil Defence Controller-Bongaigoan inaugurated Civil Defence Training Programme at Rehab Model Village, Bongaigoan District, Assam. 


The Programme was organized to tackle the situation of flood as it continues to cause damage year after year. Function was organised for the residence of Assam Model Village and people of nearby areas and was followed by the practical explanation &demonstration on disaster preparedness such as flood accident, earth quake, fire accidents, general accident on roads, snake bit, kitchen accident like gas leakage, electric - short circuit & first aid.

While explaining that India is the second most flood affected Country, Mr. Deka said trained manpower is necessary to deal before, during and after the disaster. Trained people can quickly control the situation and rehabilitate the affected people. He added, "This year flood left around 22 lakh people in misery, cause extensive damage  of property & Livestock and degradation of agricultural soil. In Assam, the flood condition is critical and enormous. People should learn flood management mechanism so that they will move quickly for actions". 

Total, 96 people participated in the programme and learn appropriate use of bamboo when flood knock the door. They learn how to defense when someone attack on them and make ready first aid box for the emergency.

Go Green…



June 5th, 2013:“Deforestation and increasing pollution are the major concern of these days. Although Assam is blessed by natural beauties of streams, forests and mountains, yet some greedy people started depleting it day by day for their vested interest”, said Gaju Rahman, Assistant Project Manager of Assam Model Village during the celebration of World Environment Day.



June 5th considers as World Environment Day and first celebration began in 1973. Now, the Day has become one of the main vehicles to spread awareness of environment issues at regional, National and International level be it climate change, global warming, disaster, harmful gases, or pollution. 

On World Environment Day, Rehab India Foundation personalizes environmental issues at Rehab Model Village at Hapasara Gram Panchayat in Manikpur Block, Bongaigoan District Assam. Team Rehab tried to realize people that keeping environment cleaner, greener and brighter is the responsibility of everyone and corrective measures should be taken by individuals to tackle environmental challenges.

Different topics were discussed on the occasion. One of the major topics was importance of environment in Islam and Hinduism and it was led by Imam Abdus Salam. 

Twenty five Titasha plants were planted by the volunteers and villagers at Rehab Model Village. Boys youth group and students of pre-primary school actively participated on the day. Chocolates were distributed to the Pre-primary children. Altogether, 113 individuals energetically participated.
