Distribution of COVID19 Essentials Relief Kit and Hygiene Training

With a ban on borders and livelihoods forced to close; the vulnerable, impoverished citizens of our country are severely affected with no income to placate and make ends meet. Despite, many Governmental and Non-Governmental organizations coming forward to help in the urban parts of India, most of our rural terrains are still silently suffering.

Rehab has heeded the Government call to join in the efforts to fight COVID, while focussing more on the grassroots, where others are not able to reach - to the last mile reaching, to the bottom of the pyramid.

COVID-19 strikes deep into Assam, a region which is frequently disrupted due to incessant flood disasters year after year. During these floods, the inhabitants keep migrating to higher grounds and away from the wild meandering Brahmaputra River.

COVID-19 and last weeks' cyclone together wreaked havoc on the lives of thousands of tribal people, who were stranded without any basic amenities.

Like every year, Rehab India Foundation is extending our support to the underprivileged people of Assam as urgent relief and rehabilitation. We have distributed Food/Provision Kits and Health & Hygiene Kits* containing the basic essentials.

Along with the relief materials, we are also ensuring community awareness through inter-personal communication towards practising hygiene, social distancing and educating them about high-risk groups, while addressing their myths and misconceptions about the spread of coronavirus, as per updated WHO verified information.

*The contents of the kits will suffice for a family of 4-5 persons for a period of one month.
