Get Rid of Poor Vision


Murshidabad: Rehab India Foundation in collaboration with Susrat Eye Foundation organized free eye screening camp for low income community people of Hajjipara at Hajjipara High School, Murshidabad, West Bengal on Sunday, May 26th, 2013.

Specialist rendered their services and provided medicines and other medical relief to 120 patients. Among them, 20 patients were selected for eye surgery will be organised on May 29th, 2013. Doctor advised patients to consume more green vegetables and pulses. He also suggested patients to wash eyes with clean water and avoid using Kajal. 

Without disturbing village culture, Rehab team did separate arrangements for men and women, and provided free registration, OPD, optical check-up and medicines to the patients.

Rehab Journalism Scholarship Programme-2013




New Delhi, May 16th, 2013: Rehab India Foundation inaugurated Journalism Scholarship Programme at Kalindikunj, New Delhi on May 16th, 2013.

Musarrat Warsi, HR/PR Manager said, “Rehab India Foundation, a not for profit organization have been working relentlessly to bridge the gap between BHARAT and INDIA, through its various community welfare endeavors to attain the goal. And E. Abubacker, Chairman Rehab is one of them who started Rehab India Foundation with a team of like minded people to kick out inequality and injustice from the society...In 2012-13, Rehab team was involved in implementing various social welfare projects be it village development programme, Assam model village, Self Help Groups, MSW scholarship programme, educare centre and employment oriented programmes.”

Syed Anwar Coordinator of Journalism Programme Rehab India Foundation explained the Journalism Scholarship Programme at length which will offer best practices of reporting, editing, scientific research, history of journalism, training etc.

Mr. Sharan J R Managing Trustee of Sankalp Foundation interacted with the audience and shared his valuable tips to the students preparing for their entrance test.

One of the eminent Board Member of Rehab and Editor of Milli Gazette, Mr. Zafarul Islam encouraged students to inculcate habit of reading news paper.  He said, “There is a change between past and current media. Earlier there were few national and regional dailies and printing was a difficult task. Now, things have changed through different medium of communication.”


 Afroz Alam Sahil, Editor (Investigation), Beyond Headlines, threw light on the governance issues marring the global image of India. Mr Tanveer, Journalist and Activist, discussed current issues covered by print and electronic media.

Papa: why I to full fill your dream?




Berhampur, May 14th, 2013: Unveiling helpline number for access to education information, Rehab District Information Centre directly coordinated the ‘Career Guidance cum Counseling Programme’ at Mohaldarpara Village in Murshidabad District, West Bengal on May 14th, 2013.

 
By covering two major topics; how to choose career and the accessibility of opportunities, Mr. Nishad, Central Zone Project Manager said, “From last two months, Rehab has been organizing career guidance programme for Class Xth and XIIth students at different corners of India. This is the crucial time for the students to opt a right stream and course… Most of the times we observe that children enforce to full fill their parents dream and suppress own interest. Overcoming from this problem, we not only invite students but parents also, so that we can discuss and realize them that this is the time of their children to achieve their goal, otherwise, they will enforce to learn to do same with their off springs.” To add to it, Mr. Nishad said, “every parent has to understand that every kid is unique and has his/her own individuality, so they should stop imposing their likeness and end up comparing their children with others.”

On the occasion, Mr. Nazmul Haque, trainer District Information Centre said, “+91-3482-255577 is the helpline number for the students. For any education related assistance, you can contact at this number.” 

Altogether, 103 students attended the programme. They shared their ideas and planned to make informed career decisions.

Obituary: Dr. M S Jayaprakash




Please be informed that Prof. M S Jayaprakash, Trustee Rehab India Foundation passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at Kollam, Kerala.

He was a tireless professor, active social worker and trusted Trustee of Rehab India Foundation who always made efforts to give voice to least able in the society.

Let us pray for the eternal repose of his soul and for his family who is in deep sorrow and grief.
